Mary Sparacio and her Spain experience
Mary Sparacio maintained a weblog during her visit to Spain earlier this year. Her blog could almost serve as a text for Spanish art and culture complete with references and interpretation. Very good use of the blogger tool.

Rota
Rota is a small town on the Atlantic Coast of Spain, not far from where Columbus set sail in 1492. Today it is home to a large naval base which supports both the Spanish and the US fleets. I spent five months there in 1978. It has one of the nicest beaches I've ever seen. It is across the bay from Cadiz, one of the oldest cities in Europe. The naval station's website has some nice pictures of the town.
